It is currently 50 degrees outside in Indianapolis … and it’s January. One can only assume this means it will be -10 degrees in April … So perhaps taking up one of the many DIY sweater blanket tutorials is something to look into.
Should you have the same bleak outlook and feel the need to create plenty of blankets for survival, slap on some gloves and dig around the Goodwill Outlet for materials.
Have you seen the completely stunning trash the dress photos people have taken? Oh they’re gorgeous! Knitting isn’t what it used to be. No longer is this classic craft only associated with grandmothers and aunts and no longer do you anticipate an itchy, shapeless sweater when someone says “I’m knitting you something!” No. Gone are those days. Instead, knitting is ageless. Knitting is as creative as any art. Don’t believe me? Check out this article on Smashing Magazine. Now that’s some creative knits! The breakfast plate - knit, of course, is thanks to that article. The full-body knit cozy… well, that’s just to get you thinking.
Ready to start whipping those knitting needles around? Head out to your local Goodwill for some yarn, or buy online for some real unique finds.
You know all those old books you come across at Goodwill, online, thrift store, etc… The covers are beautiful, the pages are that perfect twinge of earthy white. Instead of passing them by, wondering what you could possibly do with them, take up a book craft. You’re only limited by your imagination. We’ve got some old books up for grabs online if you’re ready to get to crafting.
One of my all time hands down favorite frame makeovers:
